SPLENDOR AND BEAUTY OF NATURE

These pictures are taken by my co-worker Ted. He is like a son and a friend to me. For me, this is an angle that will be taken in the eyes of some one who understands photography. At least that is my impression after seeing the photos he took. He is not a photographer, he is a computer programmer. In fact, my lay out, my template really messed up and Ted was the one who worked using these html codes and arranged every thing for me. So, you are looking at the work of a person who understands the language of photography, the beauty of nature and the complicated language of computer programming as well. I will post some of the pictures he took in my upcoming posts. All, of course, with his permission.
I am a nature lover, you see. I really appreciate sights like these one. Wouldnt you say so, too?
Have a good day to every one

BASIC COMPUTER ISSUES
We talked about the basics when you are getting good internet signal but can not pull up a web site. We also talked what browsers are and how you could determine what browser you are using.
When I was a newbie in computer troubleshooting field, there was a point when my customer had been having issues with her internet but not related with her internet provider. I encountered a lot of issues like that. I had this customer with the previous account I worked with. She thought she have no internet connection because every time she pulled up a web page, she was getting this error message:
“This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an action of the folder of the control panel”.
The above error message simply means an application in your computer is not available. Perhaps an outlook express.
The above error message had been popping out every time she surf so she told me “I have no internet connection”. As I mentioned in my earlier entries, not being able to pull up a web page is not conclusive that you do not have internet signal from your internet provider. There are a lot of reasons why you can not surf to the internet. It could be your browser, your security application, your computer or the internet provider. In this case, because the issue at hand is her inability to surf to the internet, it is just a matter of changing her default browser. How do you that?
1. Click on Start
2. Click on Control Panel
3. Click on “Add/Remove Programs”
4. Choose and click on “Set Programs Access and Defaults”
5. Choose Custom
6. One of the option you will see is “Set Default Browser”. If you want Internet Explorer, click on the radio button beside internet explorer. Bottom line, choose the browser you want. Personally, my friend, I would rather have Mozilla firefox. There had been a lot of issues with IE now. If you do not have Mozilla browser. You may download it for free. Just go to http://www.Mozilla.com.
7. Click Apply and/or OK
That should do it. In my case, it took re-starting the computer for the system to read my command. It is easy, right? By the way, this is for Windows OS.
I hope I am able to share something to you today.
By the way, the picture is taken from images.search. yahoo.
Have a great week and as I always say, take care.

200 POUNDS BEAUTY
I approached a friend. It is almost our day off and I really want to watch a good movie. I am hoping he could give one of the series of CSI-NY. Instead he gave me a Korean movie CD. I think I raised my eyebrow when he handed the CD in my hands. As if he read my mind, he smiled and said “It is a good watch, I promise you”.
The CD is entitled 200 lbs Beauty. It is a romance film. Thing is I am not into romance and/or love stories. Oh no! That is not my cup of tea. However, I had nothing to watch anymore. So, as I played the CD, I am not expecting anything. However, while watching it made me sit and really watch the movie. It has a way of capturing its audience. The plot was very light and it is funny. Even my son who was playing PSP at the time stopped and watched. In no time, we were both watching and laughing. I liked the song “Maria”. No, wait.. not like, I loved it! In the end, we both enjoyed the film. Romance films are not that bad after all. Not to mention it was funny. I felt good after watching the film.

Let me post the song Maria for you.

EMOTION
We all have our mood swings. Who doesn’t? I think it is perfectly fine for us to have these moods every now and then. Most of the time moods transcends into strong emotion. It could be envy, anger, love or simply happiness. During younger years, I had this perception that emotion was divided into two. The good and the bad. If I was feeling the negative emotion, I am bad. If I am feeling a positive emotion then I am good. Elders told me that being angry or envious is bad. Hence, when I got angry, adult would tell me, “you are bad”. As I grew into adulthood. I realized that there is no bad or good emotion. Anger, fury, hostility is a feeling. Feeling is part of being a human being. These emotions are basically the same as love, compassion, happiness. What makes them good or bad is how we react to such emotion. Let us say Mario got mad. He could either hit the person who caused him to be mad or overcome and control his emotion. If he chooses the first option, hitting makes his emotion bad because he opted to do the bad decision. If he chooses to overcome his anger then that is when he converted the emotion into a positive result. Now, let us go to an emotion which is labeled as good. They say love is a good emotion. What if Maria fell in love with a family man? Love is good, right? If Maria chooses to take this man away from his family because she loves him. That is a bad decision. However, if she reinforces to him that he have a family and he should know his right place, then that is when I could state that the emotion is good. Simply because Maria used her mind before reacting to the emotion, which is love. Hence, for me, any emotion can not be tagged as good or bad. What makes it bad or good is how we react to such emotion. It is important that as adult, we are always in control of that emotion. Simply because that will determine the correctness or the wrongness of such emotion.
Any input?

MY SUNSHINE THRU THE RAIN, MY SON.
When I arrived home today I am soaking wet. It had been raining dogs and cats here in Quezon City. When my son saw me he told me I should take a bath or I might get sick. I actually confirmed and told him he could go ahead and eat lunch. I will just change and take a bath. After i changed i went downstairs to take my bath when I realized some one is in the bath room. In fact the door was open. Vincent was inside placing my towel in the dry area of the bath room. Water was flowing and he was mixing it with hot water. Confused and surprised I asked him “What is that for?” He said “For you, you should bath with lukewarm water. The water might be cold as is and you came from work, you are surely tired.” Before I could speak he was already heading towards the door. Before he shut the door behind him he told me “Do not be long, you might get sick”. Before I could reply, he already shut the door behind him. I am already alone in the bath room and still surprised. I am supposed to say “I thought you are already having your lunch by now”.
You see, my reader, I am used on doing my own errand. Unless the task is impossible for me because of my slipped disk, I do it myself. I did not ask any assistance from Vincent. Vincent is not used on asking my assistance on his personal errand as well. We maintained that set –up so he could practice self –reliance. Hence, it is a surprise for me when he is doing the things I could do for myself. Well, it is not something that happened every day. Specially with matching adult-tone of “Don’t be long in the water, you might get sick”. I know what you might think, maybe he wants to ask for something. Nah … I raised him. He knows I don’t like going in circles. He grew up telling to me straightforward if he needs anything. Hmm… I wonder whats’ going on?
When I am dressed and ready to eat, an added unexpected scenario. I thought I will eat alone. However, when I entered the dining area, Vincent is preparing our lunch. He told me to take my seat so we could already eat our lunch. I would like to ask “What happened?”. However, before I could ask he just kissed me in the forehead and told me “I love you, Inay! Let us eat our lunch now”. So we ate and talk and talk while we eat. He told me about his day and his plan that was unrealized because of the weather. He kept on talking and talking. As I listened, I looked at my son intently. He has grown so much. The boy I took care of is now a full grown man. I can not help but to smile to myself.
I felt how my son cared for me. I suppose, my friend, there are things not needed to be told when you cared for another person. There are things that goes without saying.
I hope you enjoyed your lunch, what ever time zone you are in. I also would like to thank you for sharing your time with me as I mesmerized the simple pleasures and fulfillment of motherhood.

JOHN AND ROSE IN MY BLOGGER FRIENDS
In pursuit of my promise to myself that i will note and dedicate one post to each of the incoming member of my blogger list and friend in the internet, this post is for John and his wife, Rose. I will begin this with the recent members and to the upcoming members.
One of the recent member of my blog friends lists is John. His site is Sailors Adventures and Opinions. His blog is about the vessel where he express his life experiences as a sailor, as a father and as a husband. A journal of his interests and opinions on cars, health issues, product and services reviews, gadgets, music, cultures, and current events. One amazing thing about Johns' blog are the pi
ctures he always posts. For people like me whose life is a routine, everything i see is just the same every day. The building where i work, the overpass, Walter Mart, the market, the jeepney, my house, my room, my laptop. A repeated process every day. Seeing posts and pictures taken by blogger like John, it took me to a different world, makes me astound to the different places and marvel at its beauty. Experience the simple yet beautiful side of life. I also see that when i read Roses' entry. It is nice. It could put a smile in my face while reading.Johns' wife, Rose is also a blogger. I am pretty sure you read her posts as well. Her sites are Etcetera Etcetera, A Little Bit Of Everything, Our Clan's Marvelling, Rose's Obstacles and Glories, I am a regular reader of Rose's Obstacles and Glories. Rose had been included in my blogger lists since the first few months of my blog. I stopped writing, messed up my template, arranged my site and wrote again..Roses' site had been in my blogger set of friends. I thought i lost her for a while. I am thankful she was and still is a member of my blogger lists of friends. Rose's Obstacles and Glories is about life. the struggles and success that goes with living. Recently, Rose posted an entry entitled Playing with the Sun. I loved how the clouds talked to Rose. It was a nice shot.
John and Rose took me to the world of beauty and great scenery. Mostly, this is to thank the lovely couple for being a member of my blogger friend.
I hope John and Rose did not mind me posting their pictures.
Take care every one.

THE DREAM
A former co-worker and a friend who is now based in Seoul, South Korea shared this story to me. I am fortunate that the source of the story allowed me to post it in my site. I altered nothing. Hence, it is exactly as I had received it. By the way, this is a true story. In fact, if I am not mistaken, I know the boy in this story. Anyways, This story is good because every body dream of having a good house, an improved state of living, a higher education. I am not an exception to that. However, this boy dreamt for another being. A dream that started during younger years and transcends up until adulthood. Is that noble or not? You and only you, my dear reader, could confirm.
Three decades ago lives a young boy in a remote town north of Manila, Philippines. He used to attend a public school on their neighboring barangay. Every morning he would wake up early to fetch water and fill their big clay jar of water for their daily use while his younger sister cooked their breakfast. After that they will walk 20-25 minutes to go to school. During lunch time they would walk again the same distance, have lunch in their house and go back to school, and finally at the end of school day, they would walk again to go home. He and his sister had to do this because their daily allowance is just enough to buy one small piece of bread during recess time.
Everyday that has been their routine since he started going to school. But everyday this boy would pass by a home for the aged being run by a very good priest. He then later learned that this shelter relies heavily on donations and volunteers to keep it going. Sometimes they would stop near the house’s gate and peek inside. There he could see some people known to him are cleaning the house and the yard of the compound. He also learned that he has some relative that go there on Saturdays to help to the laundry. How he wished to help too in that shelter, but since he is very young then, he is afraid to ask as he maybe scolded. Then he said to himself, time will come and I shall be able to help this home for the aged. Every once in a while he would stop at its gate and will said to himself someday…………..and asked God to give him a chance to help the shelter. As he remember the word from the bible “ask and it shall be given up to you”, but one has to wait for HIS time on when it will be given to you, because HIS timing is so precise whenever HE gives what we asked from HIM.
Time flies and he was able to finish high school and he has gone to college. His college days were not easy. There were instances that he has to stop his college years he has not enough money to go on. Every summer vacation, he would ask his father, a carpenter, to allow him to come to him to work in a construction site hoping to save some money to continue his studies. It has becomes difficult for his father to send he and his siblings to college at the same time so he has to help his father anyway he can. There were times that he has to borrow money from his relatives for their allowance for a day. He was able to borrow only after hearing harsh and painful words. Almost every other day that has been the story. But he never gives up, he would always pray and ask God for help. Until he finally finishes his college studies and he recall his dream.
On the his first year after graduating college, looking for work is not easy, but after months of trying and frustrations, he was able to find a job his first. Salary was small, just enough for his daily needs, not even enough to buy him some clothes that he wish he had. So after six months he quit and looked for a new one, lucky for him he finds one. The salary was better than before, Christmas season comes and the he receives his first bonus and 13th month pay, he was so happy. Days before Christmas he went to the supermarket nearby to buy some grocery item and brought it to the home for the aged, and said to himself, ”so long I have waited for this day, and now here I am” and thanked God for the opportunity to help given to him. From then on every year before Christmas or whenever he receives bonus from the company he is working, he would go to the shelter to bring something in fulfillment of his long time dream and also encourage his siblings to do the same. Now he has his own family and nothing has changed, he is still doing it not only during Christmas season but whenever there is an opportunity to do it. He always brings along his wife and their children whenever he went to the shelter to teach his children the beauty of helping and giving.
As his father would always tell him, “helping others is a good deed even if you have nothing”.
So, what do you think? I am correct or am I right? [ Oopps… I suppose that gave you no option, right ? heheheh]
The picture above was taken from http://www.abc.net.au
Always take care of your selves and till my next entry.

LOKENDRA IN MY MYBLOGLIST COMMUNITY
Just recently, another site had been added to my community of “MyBlogLog”. One thing that I feel I should do but was not able to due to procrastination is to acknowledge those beautiful people who had been included in my community and those who had been included in my blog-friends list. Hey, these are my set of friend in the world of world wide web. I will start with the recent site included in my Mybloglog. I will also feature a post for the two recent blog-friends – John and Katherine in the next few entries.
Just today, a new site have been added to Mybloglog. He is Lokendra and his sites are http://karansguesthouse.wordpress.com and http://karans.info. This is the good about internet and blogging. It opens us to different worlds. We are able to see through the authors' mind. We are able to see different perspective and insights. Upon opening his site, I entered the world of Jaipur. It is the capital of Rajasthan State, in India. It is otherwise known as Pink City. Lokendras’ site is about Karan's Guesthouse. So, if you will be having any chance of going to Jaipur, Karan’s Guesthouse could be included in one of your option. Also, if by any chance you would visit Jaipur and would like to do some research, Lokendra had given good sources of information/libraries in his country.
Thank you for following me in Mybloglog, Lokendra and take care.
For my blogger friends and reader, take care and enjoy your week end.

TO THE LATE MRS. CORAZON AQUINO, AN ICON OF DEMOCRACY
The late Mrs. Corazon Aquino was the first lady president of the Philippines. Honestly, she is one of the presidents i knew who was not a traditional politician. During younger years, people called a traditional politician "trapo". She had not had any interest of acquiring power for purposes on enriching herself with vast material wealth. The other one that i am referring to was the late Pres. Magsaysay. [ though he is way way beyond my time, my parents used to tell me how Magsaysay was during his presidential seat]. Being already a teen ager during Edsa 1, Mrs. Aquino, for me is more than the title of being the first lady president of the Philippines. She is the housewife who stood against a dictator in order to restore to the filipino people the democracy that we had been yearning for during that time.
Mrs. Corazon Aquino will be on her final resting place in Aug 5, beside her husband Benigno Aquino at the Manila Memorial Park. August 5 had been declared holiday by Malacanang as a commemoration to the late former president.
Mrs. Corazon Aquino is one of those figures that one would remember not just because she is another leader..she is more than that. She was a leader who showed her people what the word noble really means.
