Nice Guy

Family Bonding time, Vincent picked the movie to watch today. Cen chose "Nice Guy" of Jackie Chan. I think this movie is far more older than the last movie we watched.

We brought chips. I also included dried pineapple fruit to add a variety to the menu. So, as we roll the film, starts family time;

Nice guy is a combination of comedy and action. It stars Jackie Chan. He plays a chef who got involved in a chaotic chase between a syndicate and a reporter. The reporter was able to video tape a crime committed by the head of the organization. And the syndicate wants the tape. Jackie Chan got caught in between. In the end, Jackie Chan ended up busting the whole syndicate all by himself. Huh! What ever happened to the police authorities?

With Jackie Chan as the lead role, you can expect lots of stunts and martial arts action. Of course, it included comedy. That is the trademark of Jackie Chan, right? What had I felt while watching the film? I can not help but to remember how reporters are always projected in movies. Media people will do every thing to get a story. They do not care who will get caught in between. They do not care about the consequence. That is the image of reporters.  Somehow, I can not help but to conclude that there is a shed of truth in it.

Well, happy Sunday to every one. And enjoy your time with your family.

60 Seconds..

Bonding time for me and my son is watching CD or DVD movie together. Usually, we are noisy when watching a movie. If we are watching a thriller, we would bet on what will happen next. I always lose.

During our grocery schedules, we drop by to DVD store. He would pick his choice of movie and I would pick mine. Then we buy chips, pop corn or anything we could think of. We are actually planning our slouch day ahead of time. And we try to do this every Sunday. We also have a schedule on who will pick the movie to watch. For instance; if I was the one who picked the movie to watch last Sunday, my son will be the one to choose the movie this coming Sunday. We alternate for fairness sake.

So, last Sunday I was the one who picked the movie to watch. I chose  "Gone in 60 seconds" It is an old movie. It is a story of a man who steals car for a living. Retired and all, he came back to his old gig to save his younger brother. It turned out that his younger brother followed his foot steps and stumbled into serious trouble on the process. The target: To steal 48 cars in 60 seconds, or his brother dies.

The main star was Nicholas Cage. The first part of the movie was not much. And I am not into cars. But we were entertained nonetheless. Vincent was laughing during the car chase. The character played by Nicholas Cage already retired but the police  authorities could not even beat him. Well, that was the comment of my son. Which is actually true.

I liked the scene of the car chase as well. Especially the part where the character played by Nicholas Cage was trapped on the bridge. There was no escape anymore. On his front were long line of vehicles. And as he drove on backward motion, he was confronted by numerous police authorities. Gathering his momentum, he drove straight towards the slanted object on his front. Prompting his vehicle to fly, literally. And as he landed on the part of the bridge where there were no  long lines of vehicles anymore, he escaped the long arms of the law. Maybe, had I watched that  scene during younger years, I would be so ecstatic. Well, for me that was the best scene. As his car flies, I can not help but be amazed and shout "whoaa..hoho".

Got the video from youtube. Thank you for dropping by and have a great bonding time with your family :)

Supernatural

Season 5 of Supernatural series has ended. At first I thought it was the end of the story. I felt heavy. It saddens me that I will not be able to watch Supernatural anymore. However, as I surf the internet between my writings, I found out that there is going to be Season 6. On top of that, there is going to be an animation version of the series as well. I suppose I just have to wait....until next year. But until then, my television viewing will not be the same

I can not really say I like the concept of Season 5. You know, the twisted angels and all. As I said, i am not religious. Maybe that is the reason why I can stand watching a show that projects an idea that God is out of the building, so to speak. The writer has explored too much. However,  I watched Supernatural since episode one of Season one. The episode was about the "Lady in White". Since then, I know I loved the show. I knew I found my home in television series. Maybe because I had been a fanatic of horror film during my younger years. I may not agree with the whole concept of Season 5, but I still love the show nonetheless.

I had so much to say about Supernatural. However, I am not really sure If you like it. So I will cut it short. What I can say is that I will definitely watch out for Supernatural Season 6. I can not wait for the next season. And for those who loved Supernatural. Let us just patient wait for the next season.

Have a great week days every one.

200 POUNDS BEAUTY

I approached a friend. It is almost our day off and I really want to watch a good movie. I am hoping he could give one of the series of CSI-NY. Instead he gave me a Korean movie CD. I think I raised my eyebrow when he handed the CD in my hands. As if he read my mind, he smiled and said “It is a good watch, I promise you”.

The CD is entitled 200 lbs Beauty. It is a romance film. Thing is I am not into romance and/or love stories. Oh no! That is not my cup of tea. However, I had nothing to watch anymore. So, as I played the CD, I am not expecting anything. However, while watching it made me sit and really watch the movie. It has a way of capturing its audience. The plot was very light and it is funny. Even my son who was playing PSP at the time stopped and watched. In no time, we were both watching and laughing. I liked the song “Maria”. No, wait.. not like, I loved it! In the end, we both enjoyed the film. Romance films are not that bad after all. Not to mention it was funny. I felt good after watching the film.

200 lbs. beauty is about Hanna who had been showered with such a gracious vocal chord. Unfortunately, despite her overflowing talent and singing niche, she have a very low self-esteem. This is because she is obese. After an embarrassing encounter, she decided to have a total change. A plastic surgery actually. When she made her come back as another person, she thought she will be happy. Only to find out that she missed the person she really was when she was just the plain, ugly Hanna. It starred Korean singer Kim Ah Jung and Ju Jin-Mo.

Let me post the song Maria for you.

SUPERNATURAL, SEASON 4

I had been so happy because my favorite television show had started airing here in the Philippines last June 5, 2009 at 9:00pm in AXN-Beyond. It is non-other than Supernatural, Season 4.
Supernatural is the story of two brothers who hit the road and hunted supernatural creatures that lurks around us. These supernatural beings are Vampires [ Season 1- Dead Mans’ Blood, Season 2 – Blood Lust, Season 3 – Fresh Blood], a man who eats human flesh [ Season 4 – Metamorphosis ] , Lady In White [ Season 1 – Pilot Episode], Bloody Mary [ Season 1-Bloody Mary] and more and more!!! The good thing about the Supernatural series is that one episode gives a different flavor from the other episode, giving each episode a different touch. It could go to real heavy to emotional to hilarious. The author of each episode could make the viewers feel what the brothers are going through. It is not just another blood and gore, there is emotion! It cleverly depicted lifes’ irony as well. In the real world, life also have its irony. Though I can not say I approve the path where Season 4 headed because it is getting too big and biblical! In fact, my son feels the concept of the show is on the verge of blasphemy. You see, my son is religious, on which I am happy he is. It is a good thing that the writer made it somehow amenable that in a way, it becomes tolerable. Actually, I already watched some of the episodes of Season 4 through internet. There are episodes wherein Gods presence had been questioned. In reality, there are occasions when we doubt if God is really there for us and with us. Also, God is so good that He allows things to happen according to how it is decided by his creations. Free will-so to speak.
I already included the show in my list of schedules “To Dos” or “To Attend To”. In fact I will be watching one episode twice in a week. And to think I already watched it through internet. So, come Supernatural schedule, I will be in front of the television, mesmerized as I am- and no one would be able to disturb me while watching….as my son told me….”You are soooo addicted”…

"UNDERWORLD, RISE OF THE LYCANS"

I have the urge to unload. I never thought I will be the subject of joke and ridicule in what I believed is my second home. Good that my son accompanied me to watch a movie. Just to get my mind off things. So I watched the talked about movie in our work place, Part Three of “Underworld” or what I thought is Part Three of the movie. On the early part of the movie, Victor came in the scene. My question had been voiced by my son, Victor had been slashed by Selene. How come he is in the movie? As the movie progresses, I realized that i am not watching the continuation of the last chapter of Underworld. I am seeing the full length the story of Lucian and Victors’ daughter. It is the beginning of the conflict between lycans and Vampires! Or is it? Remember that William had already been locked up and there had been a separate group of lycans that had been considered as enemies by the Vampire clans. Seemed that it happened even before Lucian!! Well, the last scene of the story"Rise Of The Lycans" is actually the beginning of what I believed is Part I of Underworld. If you had seen the last two sequel of Underworld, you will know that the movie currently showing in theaters here in the Philippines should be Part I of the Underworld sequel. The action is good, of course. That is needless to say!! Its just that I had watched a lot of bloody and gory movies before that the action scenes on what I believed is part three is standard!! just fine. I should say, though that the two previous Underworld movies are more hard packed in action. More blood. Not that gory though! By the way, If you had seen how Selene killed Victor!! Wow, I cant help but be amazed on the wonders of movies. Sliced so neatly you will not see it coming. So cunning. I liked that scene. I played and re-played that scene more that three times.

Anyways, Underworld is entertaining and a good movie. I just cant help but to be dismayed because I thought I will see something new. What I saw was something I already knew! Only It came in full length and in detail. My son and myself have the same question though, why is it that the movie, which supposedly should be the first part of the story, had been shown last. People thought it is part three. I thought it is part three. Only when I see the movie that I realized, Hey! This is the past of Lucian and Victor! This is not the present time. This is not Selenes’ time. I agree on one thing though. Selene has some similarities in physical features with Victors’ daughter. No wonder Selene reminded Victor of the daughter whose execution he sealed.
