SUMMER TOO SHORT?!!

Just yesterday I was watching the morning show on ABS-CBN. Hosts were talking about the summer being too short this year! The reason? It is only April but sky is already cloudy. Rains already pouring and tropical depression seemed to be already building up within Philippine Territory. In fact, the show have this question wherein viewers were open to participate: The question was something like “ Summer, bitin! The answer is either “yes” or “no”, then state why. While watching I can not help but to ask if this climate change is one of the effect of the Global Warming. Or maybe this is an isolated concern. Honestly, I can not tell. Though I can not help but to imagine fiestas and Santa Cruzan with pouring rain. Month of May is fast approaching. Also, this is the month where people go to the beach and kids jump into their long awaited school vacation. I know this is a computer era but hey, outdoor activities are not exactly over rated, right?

Always look at the bright side. It is not hot! 12noon but it is not hot. In fact it is cloudy. We will not be sweating so hard anymore that we have to maximize our electric fan and exhaust our AC, right? I say what ever temperature awaiting this summer, accept it as is and make the most out of it. For the students like my Vincent, hope they enjoy their school vacation and hope we all enjoy this summer!!

ONE AMONG THE THOUSAND THOUGHTS FOR LENTEN SEASON

Hours of idle time can be relaxing for a person living in a tight schedule. More so that days of idle time can be blissful . However, when long idle hours becomes habitual, routinely and had already become part of a persons’ life, it becomes dangerous. Had you heard the saying that an idle time is the devils’ play ground? Long idle hours kills time, it bore dull minds, it invites boredom, the danger is when a group of people regularly packed together in a long, long idle hours, beating boredom, waiting for hours, the pack have to gather together to kill the remaining time they have to wait. The thirst to make something /lift minds – off in the face of long wait. Every person, having different personalities, have various ways of dealing with a situation. Some would chose to do something useful. Some would find some one to talk to. Some would go with the group, find a way to kill time. Sometimes, what seemed to be like an innocent camaraderie and group forming became a venomous spit when fun comes at the expense of another person. When the price of being jolly is to find any form of malice towards another person, i suppose that is one of the times when the devil had all smiles because the saying becomes very true: Idle time is the lair of the Devil!

I read in one book that every thing we do here on earth is recorded, every spiteful word, every unfair quotes against our neighbors, every form of insult. It reverberate in the walls of heavens and had been and always will be heard by our Father, every word, every deed!

One of the thousand thoughts for this Lenten Season!

Funny that eighteen years ago I did say the same lyrics to myself, “ If I am a man, I will treasure my woman and I will do everything in my power to keep her and build a happy family with her. I will not hurt her the way I am hurting now. “

DO YOU STILL BELIEVE IN GENUINE LOVE?

I had been making reviews for ciao.com for one week now. One of the reviews is under the category of Discussion /Opinion. One of the topic is a question about Love, does it really exist? We have our respective opinion about this topic and this is mine, I would like to share it with you, my reader.

Love is a word that seemed to have been used, abused and misunderstood to the point that its existence and veracity had already been questioned. Actually, love does exist. Love is a strong emotion towards another individual, idealism or any living or non living being. Sad to say that most people connote love with sex and romance. In my opinion, love can be in various forms. Love can be that emotion towards our parents or parental love, towards our kin or siblings, towards our child or motherly/fatherly love, or simply a love for a friend. One kind of love that is noble is the act of giving to some one because of sympathy begotten from love. One perfect example of true love, for me, is the love of Jesus for human kind. Or Mohammed, or Buddha! That is the highest form of Love.

If i may add, when i said towards living or non-living, i mean the love for fame, money or materials things.

So, does Love really exist? I believe the answer is 100% YES, LOVE DOES EXIST. It is just a matter of our respective perception about the word but as long as we have an emotion, there is surely Love.

EARTH DAY

Just recently I had been continuously seeing the commercial from NatGeo Channel that they will be switching off their lights for one hour on the 28th of March. The purpose of this is for the EARTH Day!! Actually, United Nations supported the World Wildlife Fund program aimed on presenting before the Global Climate Change Conference on December of this year 2009 in determining official government policies aimed on overcoming Global Warming. Various business establishment and people on all walks of life will switch off their lights globally for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening of March 28 to vote for Mother Earth.

This should also be a practice in business establishments, to turn off any electrical appliances, when not anymore needed. Also for civilians to make sure our appliances are not on the standby mode (except refrigerator, of course) when we are not using them. This is one way to protect our one and only planet because this lessens carbon emission.

As has always been said, we have only one PLANET, we should take care of it because losing it would mean losing our very place to stay surviving.
