A Panic Night

1:00 am and on my way home from work. When I aligned to the tricycle,  I noticed three men hugging each other. One of the three men were almost naked. That strikes as unusual, don't you think so?

But then, that was their business and it was 1:00 a.m. I should know better than to pick trouble by staring at the three men. And so I walked passed them not even looking at them anymore. As I walked near their location, i heard their conversation. That's when I realized, they were three heavily drunk men. I was not sure if they even know what they were saying or what they were doing. Nonetheless, I walked passed them and walked straight ahead. In the corner of my eye, I saw the almost naked man left the two. As i turned my back I knew the remaining two men where behind me. As I walked, they walked behind me. I swiftly shifted my pacing from normal to faster,  so did they.

As they walked faster, almost reaching me, I moved as if I was going to run. My hands were already inside my bag. I was looking for my pepper spray. I remembered what my son told me, always have your protection ready. Foolish that i was, i became complaisant.

And so as I felt the two almost catching up on me, my heart were pounding and my panic grew even more. I was rummaging through my things while on an almost running state. I can not find my pepper spray. Why is it that when we are on a panic mode, we can not find the things we need to find?

A few minutes of being unable to grasp the air, or my breath for that matter, when I realized that one man is already behind me. The impulse to look behind was stronger than to run. That was when I saw that the two drunk men were already gone. It is a younger lad now also earnest to go home. Hayyss.

Was that a close call? I do not know. I am sure of one thing though...Shirleeyyy...one golden rule..Do not panic! Never never panic...and i did.

I allowed my self to have that long sign of relief..and laughed at myself after that.

Have a safe day, every one
