MAGUINDANAO MASSACRE

November 23, 2009 was the date that shocked every one in Maguindanao, Mindoro, Philippines. It was the date when 46 lives were massacred and brutally murdered. One ex-military officer said numbers were actually rising. It was an incident tagged as the Maguindanao Massacre. Morning of November 3, 2008 when a group of women marched to the local commission on Elections (COMELEC ) in the office of Maguindanao to submit the candidacy for Esmael Mangudadatu for gubernatorial position. Unfortunately, Mr. Mangudadatus’ wife and younger sister were among the casualties of this heinous crime. Women were raped before they were murdered.
